How long is each Konmari tidying Lesson?

Each KonMari Tidying Lession is between 3 and 5 hours as this amount of time will ensure we're able to achieve impactful results. 3 hours is the minimum and I recommend 5 hours for larger categories whenever possible.

How many Lessons will I need?

The number of lessons you need or frequency depends on your preferences, budget and organizing goals. Some people want help to get started and others want guidance every step of the way. Other factors include: size of your home, how much you have, if there are additional items in storage, how fast we work, and whether you continue on your own in between lessons.

How much does it cost?

KonMari Tidying Lessons are $70-85/hour depending on which lesson or package you choose. You can see all the different options I have available by visiting my online shop

how do i book an appointment?

We start with a free phone consultation to learn more and discuss any questions you may have. When you're ready to proceed, we can book your lessons.

What method of payments do you accept?

Visa, Master Card, American Express, EMT (Email Money Transfer) and cash. Please note full payment is required at the time of booking.

what is the cancellation policy?

For a full refund after booking your lessons, please cancel with more than 48 hours notice from the scheduled lesson time. Cancellations under 48 hours will receive a partial 50% refund. If cancellation is less than 24 hours from your scheduled lesson time, your payment will not be refundable.

Can I buy a gift certificate?

Yes, I can provide a PDF for a gift certificate you can print out to gift to the recipient. Please contact me for more details.

What areas do you service?

Anywhere! For in-person lessons within the city of Calgary and surrounding areas (up to 35km from T2S) travel fee is included. For distances above 35km, travel fee is $0.55/km each way. Distance more than 200km may require overnight accommodation and/or airfare so please inquire with details of your location. A quote will always be provided in advance when travel fee is applicable and will be included on the invoice at time of booking.

Will my information remain confidential?

Absolutely! I will not disclose any information about you or identify you as a client. If photos are taken to document your progress, it will only be shared if you have given me permission to do so on my client agreement form but I will always keep your location, name and personal info confidential.

Are you a member of any professional associations?

Yes, I am a bronze level Certified KonMari Consultant and a member of POC (Professional Organizers in Canada).

are you covered by insurance?

Yes, I have a commercial general liability and professional liability insurance policy.

Do I need to tidy up before our lesson?

Please resist the urge to tidy up. If I can see your home in its natural state, it will give me greater insight into your habits for me to give you suggestions on future maintenance. However, if we're going to be working on your clothing category, please ensure you do laundry before the lesson but folding of your clean laundry is not necessary.

should i read marie kondo's books?

It's not a requirement for you to read Marie Kondo's books as I will walk you through the steps of KonMari Method™ tidying but it would be beneficial for you to read the books especially if you would like to do some tidying on your own. I recommend reading "The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up" before reading "Spark Joy." See the list of books available in different countries/languages here.

Do I need to buy any additional storage or organizational items?

I recommend to hold off on purchasing any new storage or organizational items until the end. During the joy check (decluttering) process, all storage is considered temporary until we finish all categories. Quite often, we're able to use what you already have for storage. I will provide some basic organizational items and when additional items are needed, I can make suggestions and/or help with making purchases.

What happens to my discarded items?

Proper disposal of your discarded items are up to your own preferences. I recommend donating any usable items to local charities and recycling unusable items. Some clients choose to sell certain items. At the end of each lesson, I'd be happy to help you load your car with your discarded items. If you don't have a vehicle, some charity organizations have pickup services. If you're not sure where to donate your items, please see my donation and recycling guide and I'm also happy to research and give additional suggestions if needed.

Can you work with my children or other members of my family?

Yes, absolutely. However, I recommend booking a separate lesson or block off a portion of the lesson time for each person to ensure the best result.
